Our heritage shapes who we are and can give us a strong sense of belonging. Understanding what we belong to and why is crucial to enabling us to understand our norms, behavior and values and how these can impact on our interaction with other groups within society. Our very identity therefore has a connection to conflict and in the manner in which conflict is transformed by each and everyone of us. Our sense of belonging can also shape the extent to which we play an active part as citizens within the societies that we live in. We aim to support people worldwide to explore their heritage to understand their belonging and identity and its relationship to conflict and violence. We also aim to support people to consider their role within the societies that they live within and challenge them to positively participate as active citizens that shape the communities that they live within and organisations that they are part of as leaders. As such, our programmes also aim to develop soft skills and in particular those relating to leadership.
