Our History
The Common Ground Foundation was originally founded as the Centre & Organisational Network For Leadership and Identity Conflict Transformation Skills (CONFLICTS) in 2007 and was developed by a team of international trainers that were based in the UK, Italy and Turkey. Its creation followed their successful delivery of the Advanced Training On Managing Identity Conflict (ATOMIC) programme that ran across Europe from 2005 and which had benefited young people and youth and community workers across the continent becoming recognized as a piece of best practice for its implementation of the YOUTHPASS European Accreditation system. From 2007 onwards CONFLICTS continued to develop and deliver educational learning and development programmes in the UK and abroad and in 2009 changed its name to become the Common Ground Foundation in 2009. The Foundation became a Community Interest Company in 2010 by which time it had successfully expanded its team within the UK and reach with a diverse range of programme and services that it continues to develop that are delivered within the UK and internationally.
